The Coffee Cultural Landscape of Colombia has been added to UNESCO's World Heritage List.

The Coffee Cultural Landscape of Colombia is an exceptional example of a sustainable and productive cultural landscape that is unique and representative of a tradition that is a strong symbol for coffee growing areas worldwide. It encompasses six farming landscapes which include 18 urban centrals on the foothills of the western and central cordillera of the Andes in the western portion of the country. This area is best represented by a 100-year-old tradition of small plot coffee growing nested in the high Andean forest and by the way farmers have adopted cultivation to difficult mountain conditions. The urban areas, mainly situated on the relatively flat tops of hills above the steeply sloped coffee fields, are characterized by their architecture, which is of Spanish influence. Building materials were, and remain in some areas, cob and pleated cane for the walls with clay tiles for the roofs.

This tour is ideal for people seeking to familiarize themselves with the coffee landscapes, the history of sustainable coffee crops in difficult terrains. It also includes a visit to a historic town surrounded by spectacular views.

• A visit to a coffee plantation in Yipao. Here, you will learn the various activities associated with coffee crops, including how organic coffee is grown, harvested, dried and roasted. Our guest will also participate in our coffee tasting session and learn how professionals determine the quality and taste of our regional coffees. Guest will also have the opportunity to sample local area fruits and fresh juices during their stay.
